Getting back into blogging!

Wow, I cant believe that almost 4 mths has gone by since I last had time to blog!! It's amazing how fast time flies by. Well since I last wrote we are now a PROUD Mommy & Daddy! Reagan was born August 6th at 6:51 am; she was 8lbs 9 oz and 201/2 inches long with TONS of hair!

To catch up I must start out with the labor and delivery. Labor for me was very quick. It was around 1:30 am when I woke up because my back was hurting. I went into the other room to crawl in bed with Darrin. Yes, I was sleeping in another room, being 37 weeks pregnant isn't very comfortable, so I wanted the WHOLE bed to myself! I woke Darrin up saying my back was hurting. As I laid there, no more than 10min past, I felt like I needed to get up and us the restroom. Needless to say, I didnt make it to the bathroom. I thought I peed on myself! You do some crazy things when you are pregnant, so this wasn't unlikely! After I finished in the bathroom, I crawled back in bed only to find myself wet again. This time I realized something was happening. I went to the bathroom and called for Darrin. "Darrin".....nothing, "Darrin".....nothing, "DARRIN!!!"....here he comes running..."I think my water just broke."

From then everything went kinda fast. I still wasn't exactly sure, so we called the doctor and she said come on in and bring our bags. Of course, me being the planner I am, I had are bags packed for weeks....so I was ready to go! I had a list on the refrigerator of the last minute things to pack, so as I took a bath, I told Darrin to get the list and pack the remaining things. After my bath I walked into the bedroom and there was Darrin....making the beds!!! WHY, I have NO CLUE!! Did he pack the remaining things.....NO!!

We got all our stuff together and headed on our way to the hospital. It was now an hour later, around 2:30am, I called family and told them we were on our way to the hospital! We still weren't sure if this would be the day, so we just told family we would keep them updated. As we were on our way to the hospital my contractions started. My coach was ready, he had is stop watch around his neck and was timing as they were coming on. (For those who know Darrin this is SO typical!!) We decided I was definitely in the beginning stages of labor.

From the time we got to the hospital and I got set up in my bed, I was really starting to feel the contractions. The nurse called for my doctor, told me I was dilated to about 5cm and I could go to the upper floor where I would deliver. We moved rooms and I was asking where my epidural was and how much longer! They gave me 2 shots of pitocin to help until the anesthesiologist came in to administer the epidural. The nurses had concluded I was dilated to 8cm at the time I received the epidural!!

We pushed with the nurse for about 30 min, then she said I am going to let you relax for about 30 minutes until the doctor comes in. It was now 6:00 am. The doctor came in at 6:20ish he got prepared and at 6:51am Reagan Marie Snider was born. 8lbs 9oz; 20 1/2 inches and tons of dark hair!!!
