Not a whole lot going on the past couple of weeks. Except a nasty, nasty stomach virus. Grayson got it first, he started throwing up and had diarrhea that lasted 5 days. We took him to the doctor twice to make sure it wasn't anything more than a stomach virus. They did find blood in his stool which either meant parasite or viral infection. Since everything else tested normal and we all had the same thing, the doctor said it was a viral infection which just had to run its course. In the mean time, Darrin, Reagan and I all got it. Darrin took 2 days off from work, and for the past week, we have all been sick. Thank goodness we had Maria to help take care of us, she was the only one who didn't get it.

We are getting settled in little by little and getting used to our new routine. I realized my life would go on without Chic fi Lay and Target. I have given those up, but in return added some other wonderful things into my life.
We have a private park that is walking distance from where we live, so we walk there everyday. We are usually there from about 4 o' clock until around 6 o'clock. There is a group of women who are usually there, so we all chat. Its pretty much a social hour for us Moms. Since all of the women have Nanny's, the children play with each other or the Nanny, while the Mom's chat. Sounds funny, I thought the same thing when Darrin first told me about it, but it's great! Reagan is not completely used to Maria yet, and since all of the kids her age speak Spanish, she doesn't get to far from me. But as time has gone by, she is more familiar with the park and the kids who are there. Maria goes along with us and will push Grayson in the swing, feed or just hold him. Reagan's friend Mia. She is so sweet and you can tell she wants to play with Reagan so bad. They are both just so shy and the language barrier makes it even harder. But they still play together.
I have made a really good friend, Amy, her husband works with Darrin. She was here for about 2 months before we got here, so she has been extremely helpful in finding things, or just knowledge about the city. We bbm (blackberry message) each other all throughout the day, and if we are not at the park together, we try to get out and do something else.
There are a few other women I have met at the park as well. They all speak English, so we haven gotten to know each other. I'm sure as time goes by we will become better friends. They are all very sweet and very helpful.
I had my first encounter with the delivery of groceries. Or anything you else you might need. One night I told Darrin, "ugh, I really want a Diet Coke." Within 3 minutes it was there on my doorstep. You just call the local supermercados or convinent stores and someone on a little motorcycle will deliver it to you.
When you come back from the grocery store. They will get all your grocery's out of the car and bring then up stairs for you. Or you can order then online and have them directly sent to your house. We haven't tried that yet. Even though it might just be the grocery store, I take advantage of all opportunities to get out of the house.
And I had my very first at home mani & pedi. She comes to your house and to do your nails, can you say perfect?! But I did see a cute little O P I salon near out house that I want to try out, it looked fun.
I am still figuring out how to ship things here. I am really lost without my online purchases. I think I am now going to be able to ship things to Miami, which then will then forward to a P O Box that I will have here. The shipping will just be normal cost to Miami, and then I will pay a fee when I pick it up. But there is no Gymboree, no Old Navy, no Target, no Forever, no Dillards, no H&M, no GAP, not much of anything for the everyday. They do have a high end mall, Blue Mall, that has a Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and a few other stores, but as far as the everyday normal shopping, nothing. There is a Zara and a Mango store(which are really cute European type stores) I am sure there are other places, I have just yet to find them!
This weekend Darrin is off for the 4th, so we had planned on taking a drive up to Las Terrenas to spend a couple days at the beach. We are all feeling better, but not sure we should go. We still have 2 more days to rest up, but I am so excited and ready to get out of the house. This Momma needs a tan and some fresh air!
