Free Play At My Gym

Today at 4:3o was free play at the gym which means it's not a class but the kids are free to go and play around. I took Reagan and she loved it. She was all over the place and found another little girl to play with. We are allowed to go to 3 free plays a week and then her actual class, which is Friday mornings. The only problem is that one of the free plays is during her normal nap time (Tuesday from 1-2 pm) and another is at my gym training time (Wednesday from 4:30 -5:30pm) so I am working on changing some things around. I love taking her to the gym and wish we would go everyday. I am so glad we enrolled her, I know it is going to be great for her!

Potty Training Tips

It seems like once a week I receive an email from the Baby Center website regarding potty training. "Is your child ready?" or "10 steps in toilet training," or "Potty Training 101, " etc. I alway read through the emails just to see what they have to say. It's crazy to that before we know it we will already be going through it. I am not really dying to get her out of diapers, I have heard moms who say they are so ready to be out of diapers, but I'm not really there yet. I know potty training is awful, terrible, frustrating and just stressful, so I not looking forward to it. I keep hoping Reagan will be one of those exceptions who learns very easy and very quickly, but who knows. I do however, think she is more aware of what is going on. Yesterday I was in the kitchen and she was just talking and talking. I wasn't paying much attention to what she was saying until I realized she was saying, "poo, poo.....poo, poo." I went over to check her and sure enough she had gone. Then today she came up to me telling me the same thing. So this week she has been wanting to tell me when she goes instead of me just finding out.

I had a coupon for 20% off at Babies R Us that expired last month, so before it expired I bought her a potty. It's been sitting in the garage but I decided to go ahead and get it out. We aren't really starting any kind of potty training, she is just getting used to it. It sometimes sits in our bathroom, sometimes it's in her bathroom and then sometimes she takes it into her room. However, no matter where it sits, there is always a wad of toilet paper that follows!

First Class At My Gym!

Today I took Reagan to My Gym for the first time and she loved it! I heard about it about a month ago and I have been wanting to enroll her, but I just never got around to it. However, after her deciding she did not want nap yesterday, I decided it was time. So we went this morning and it was wonderful. There were about 7 or 8 other "waddlers" (thats her age group name) and 2 instructors. The parents are involved and they just do different activities in about 15 minute intervals.

• First we all sat in a circle with music playing and sang, did arm movements and pointed to different body parts. (nose, toes, eyes, etc.)
• Then they had free time to just roam around the gym and do whatever they want. (jump on trampolines, slide, play with balls, play in the balls, walk on a balance beam, play on the mats, etc)
• Next we got back in the circle and did an activity. Each time they are different, but today it was rocking on different toys teaching them balance. (not sure what they are called, but like a rocking horse, but all different types)
• More then free time to roam and do whatever.
• Next they connected a trapeze bar to rope and let the kids swing back and forth on it. They also let them walk across bars and go over and through a tunnel (Reagan wasn't so interested just yet, she was a little unsure.) They also attached some swings so they could swing if they wanted. Reagan loves to swing, so she did that.
• Then they have a separation time, which they bring the kids in the middle of the circle and let them play. They dump out a huge tub of balls and blocks and let them play together. The parents aren't involved in this, they are watching from the side. Afterwards, all the kids help clean up the toys.
• Next is story time.
• And then they finish with a game. Today they brought out a huge bubble blower and a fan and blew bubbles. The kids chased and popped, some even tried to eat, the bubbles and then it was over!

I am really excited about her new class, I think she is really going to like it. I didn't bring my camera because I was afraid I would look like a crazy mom, but I did see other crazy moms with their camera, so next week I will definitely take mine!

Thursday - 5:00 - 9:00 pm Sewing Class

Friday - 9:15 - 10:15 am - Reagan Little Gym Class

On another note I finished my first skirt last week and I am almost done with a second! I went ahead and did two for Reagan for Easter and they turned out great! I can't wait to see her in them!

Dinner In La Jolla

Since it was the last night Jess and Cece would be here we planned on going to La Jolla for dinner. Darrin was supposed to land at 12:40 pm so we were going to pick him up and head out there for the day. Unfortunately, he had trouble on his plane in Atlanta which put him an hour and a half delayed, which caused him to miss his connecting flight, which then caused him to not arrive until 4:30 pm. Poor thing, he was going to have to wait until 7:45, so I guess it could have been worse. We still dragged him out to La Jolla for a bit to let the girls play and have dinner. Reagan was sure glad to have her Daddy back!

I think this picture might be Darrin's favorite picture ever taken! He is starting to see hope for a little bit of an athlete in her. I have absolutely none what so ever, so he is hoping she doesn't turn out like me. According to him she is going to be a softball player, not a debutante.

We had so much fun with you girls! Thank you so so much for coming! Reagan woke up this morning saying, "Cece, Cece, go?" (go is "where did she go?") I know it's hard being away from home and normal routines, but we had a great time and I enjoyed the company. Guess next time we will see you will be in the summer, the girls will be almost 2!! Crazy how fast they have grown!
